Pull Merlot 2010
Review by Eric Tansey, CSW
If you have not read our blog titled “The unjust exile of Merlot,” this would be the time. Simply click the button below to read our post. This Merlot is made by Broken Earth Winery from the Paso Robles AVA located in San Louis Obispo California. Paso Robles has a dry, hot climate, making the grapes more concentrated and less acidic. This produces fuller bodied wines that are fruit forward and have less tannins. Broken Earth Winery wines are estate grown, harvested and bottled in Paso Robles. Winemaker Chris Cameron is committed to sustainable practices and passionate about the entire winemaking process from vine to bottle.
Dark cherry cola, with red berry aromas. The tastes of strawberry and black cherry give way to tobacco and earth characteristics. Low acidity and soft tannins, and the presence of oak, gives layers of complexity to the wine. Pair with burgers, BBQ chicken, beef stew or simply on the porch with some friends. Cheers!
