Papillon by Orin Swift
Review by Eric Tansey, CSW
Papillon means butterfly in French. This is another Orin Swift Cellars wine by wine maker David Phinney. A Bordeaux style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc. This wine was aged 16 months in french oak, 40% of that in new oak. Dark fruit and log cabin-like aromas. On the palate, dark black cherries, dark chocolate, and rose petals, firm tannins and medium acidity. This wine is powerful and makes a lasting statement. Enjoy this wine with a fine steak or a good book next to a warm fire.

This wine tastes like the label looks, powerful and moving. It demands a good book and a warm fire.
